                         the revolution of technology speeds up with the computer. The computer does work within seconds rather than
many days. Besides these some drawbacks also with the computer. One of these is eye strain. The computer becomes a kingpin in our life. We can't escape by using these video display terminals. In such situations how we protect our eyes? Given in the following.
  1. Take 15 minutes to rest every 2 hours. In case more stress work, take rest every 1 hour.
  2. During in work blink your eyes frequently. Most of the people observe continuously on the screen without blinking their eyes. Without blinking your eyes become dry. Dry eyes can become week quickly. Blinking brings your eyes to wet and healthy.
  3. For strong eyes muscles, do exercise daily.
  4. The main cause of low vision in computer users is, doing continuous work without taking rest. So test your eyes once a year. And contact lens users better to test twice in a year.
  5. Mostly use the good resolution screen. Before to buy a monitor ask feeler that how many scan lines are used by the monitor? Scan lines are the horizontal thin lines. The clear structure on the screen depends on the number of scan lines. A large number of scan lines give a clear structure on the screen. More than 700 scan lines on monitor avoid the stress in the eyes.
  6. Adjust the display of video mostly in monochrome( only in one colour). Pure green and yellow colours are good for the eyes, never mind black and white colours are also. Concentrate on the size of the letters rather than the size of the screen. Letters should be minimum 1/8 of inches
  7. Room lighting should be greater than 2 to 3 rates of screen lighting. And also screen characters should be brighter than 5 to 10 rates of screen background.
  8. The screen should not be blinks to the eyes.
  9. The screen should be fronted to your head and eyes, and also set the monitor slightly down. If you use hard copy during operating computer, a hard copy should be in front of the screen, rather than beside or somewhere. And also keep minimum 18 inches distance from your eyes to the screen.
